Japanese wireless networking and storage firm Buffalo Technology on Tuesday said it has entered into a joint venture with its Middle East distributor Advantec.
Buffalo said the new venture will be based in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone under the name Buffalo Advantec FZCO and cover the Gulf and adjacent Middle East countries currently covered by Advantec.
Kevin Vine, Buffalo vice president of sales and marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said in a statement the venture "gives Buffalo a solid base in the region and allows a closer working relationship with key local partners".
"The dedicated infrastructure and staff that Advantec will bring to the partnership will allow Buffalo to rapidly expand its business and market share position in the region," Vine said.
The financial details of the venture were not disclosed.
