UAE telecom Etisalat said on Saturday it has started full commercial services in Nigeria, state news agency WAM reported.
Etisalat said in September last year it had bought a 40 percent stake in a new Nigerian telephone operator from Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Development Co.
"Indeed I am pleased to see Etisalat Nigeria join the fold of Etisalat's international operations to offer Nigerians access to a new 'talk' experience and a totality of Etisalat's world-class products, and telephony services," Etisalat's Group Chairman, Mohammed Hassan Omran, said in a statement.
Etisalat Nigeria's Acting CEO is Ali Ahmad Yaroof.
