Ahmad Almulla , CIO, Dubai Aluminum Company (Dubal).

SAP has had a chequered history in the MENA region. ACN asked a number of IT professionals if they had used the firm's products in the past - and if not, were prepared to consider using them in the future.

Currently we follow the onsite (in-house) and offsite (support partner) support model which is satisfactory. Also, whenever required till date, the level of support requested from SAP AG has been satisfactory.

Constantin Vaduvac, Assistant IT manager, UAE University

We have an ERP that is customised for university purposes. It's a completely different platform to SAP.

I don't think that we will change because the solution is provided by Sunguard and is completely customised for education. So it has quite a few specialised models with that. Our ERP was only implemented about two years ago and switching to another application is not something that will happen soon anyway.
