Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) has secured a contract to deliver a shipload of luxury yachts to the United Arab Emirates for next year's Dubai International Boat Show and Abu Dhabi Yacht Show.
The unique shipment will be transported onboard the ‘Yacht Express' vessel, which is scheduled to leave Florida in January 2009 and arrive in Dubai towards the end of February 2009. The vessel is also expected to collect additional boats in Rotterdam and Benoi during the journey.
"This will be the first time Yacht Express has visited the United Arab Emirates," said Clemens van der Werf, president of DYT.
"It sends a strong message in support of Dubai's and Abu Dhabi's initiatives to develop the country as an international yachting destination, which includes worldclass marinas and unrivalled opportunities for pastimes such as sport fishing, yacht racing and cruising."
Following the completion of both events in March 2009, the Yacht Express vessel will reverse its routes, arriving back in Florida towards the end of April 2009.
