Dubai Towers-Doha to be Leed-certified

Dubai Holding-owned Sama Dubai has said that Dubai Towers - Doha will be one of Qatar's first buildings to be designed to the US Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leed certification.

Complying with the guidelines of the rating system, the towers will offer improved air and water quality for reducing solid waste.

Located at the new business district in Doha, the Dubai Towers - Doha will rise 84 floors above the Corniche.

Executive chairman of Sama Dubai, Farhan Faraidooni, said, "Sama Dubai focuses on adopting the latest available technology. Such green techniques help the company effect substantial reduction in water and energy needs, while minimising waste and pollution."

Leed-certified buildings use key resources more efficiently when compared to conventional buildings. They also offer healthier work and living environments, while contributing to higher productivity and improved employee health and comfort.

Sama Dubai's existing projects also include Dubai Towers, The Lagoons and the Creekfront Development in Dubai, Amwaj in Morocco, Salam Resort in Bahrain, Salam Yiti in Oman and Mediterranean Gate in Tunisia.
