Air Arabia profit soars 30%

PROFIT SOARS: Air Arabia posted net income of $58.26 million in the third quarter.

Dubai-listed low-cost carrier Air Arabia posted a net profit of 214 million dirhams ($58.26 million) in the third quarter, up 30 percent from the year-earlier period.

The airline made 374 million dirhams in the nine months ended Sept. 30, compared to 280 million dirhams in during the same period last year, it said in a statement on Saturday.

The total number of passengers in the third quarter stood at 978,794 passengers, an increase of 34 percent compared to the same period last year, the airline said. (Reuters)
