Momentum Logistics has revealed plans to invest one billion dirhams over the next seven years to develop its global operations.

The company, which was recently launched as a subsidiary of port management company Gulftainer, has opened a facility at the Sharjah Inland Container Depot (SICD), where customers will be provided with a range of freight forwarding, transportation, storage and container repair services.

According to Matthew Derrick, general manager of Momentum Logistics, this is the first of three offices being planned, with a second one scheduled for Dubai next year

Once Momentum has established itself within the UAE, it plans to enter key markets throughout the world, with a total projected investment of one billion dirhams over the next seven years. “We have already announced plans to develop a logistics city from which customers will be able to manage their entire supply chain,” added Derrick. “International Logistics City is a 700,000m² development located in Sharjah, which will host our 25,000m² state-of-the-art distribution centre.”
