Qatar Airways secures financing for three aircraft

Qatar Airways has secured a $500 million finance lease for the purchase of three Boeing 777 aircraft, the airline said on Monday.

Qatar Airways said the aircraft were scheduled for delivery by the end of this year.

The banks involved in securing the 12-year finance lease are Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank AG, Standard Chartered and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. Europe, the airline said.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al-Baker said in a statement the deal showed the airline "has built up a strong reputation in the international marketplace with a solid long-term growth strategy that can weather any crisis”.
