Drydocks World receives ISO certification

Drydocks World received ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) 1900:2001 certification last month in recognition of the quality management standards within its real estate department.

The Dubai World subsidiary, which specialises in the repair, conversion and building of ships, first initiated the principles of a quality management system around three years ago to ensure the needs and expectations of its maritime customers were being met. This has been further developed over the years, with the team from its real estate department attending a number of specialised courses to define their role in exceeding customer expectations.

“While setting plans to develop our customer services, the real estate department carefully considered the importance of gaining the trust of customers by providing them with best possible services in terms of prices, promptness and quality,” said Saif Bin Dhaen Al Falasi, divisional manager of real estate, Drydocks World.

“Our staff underwent training courses to familiarise themselves with all the modern developments in this field, whether it involved participation in specialist workshops or undergoing rigorous training courses. By receiving ISO 9001:2000 certification, we will boost customer satisfaction and attract new clients, while enhancing Drydocks World’s competitive edge,” he added.

The ISO certification follows a string of achievements for the real estate team from Drydocks World this year. Other acknowledgements have included a certification of appreciation from Dubai World’s Business Excellence Centre, together with an award from its Suggestions and Rewards Scheme.

“I thank the team, comprising Tahera Malik, Asma Al Mehairi, Nisha Thomas, Ahmed Hussain, and Khalid Al Ali, who have put in extraordinary dedication in the project,” said Al Falasi.
