Global drinks players to assemble in Dubai

The biggest and most influential gathering of suppliers and buyers in the beverage market will meet at Dubai Drink Technology Expo 2008 next month, it has been promised.
"The exhibition is one of the most significant exhibitions to be organised in the UAE and the region at large as it accelerates the pace of technology transfer and expertise in this highly important sector," said Abdul Salam Al Madani, president of Index Holding.
Scheduled to take place at Dubai's World Trade Centre from December 14 to 16, DDTE is expected to serve as a platform for decision makers.
Exhibitors are predicted to attend from countries including Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, India, Spain, Cyprus, the UK, Turkey, China and the US to "find out new business opportunities, obtain major market trends, study a large variety of products for all kinds of processes in one place and develop new business relationships".
"We are expecting the attendance of nearly 5000 industry leaders from over 50 countries in attendance, to discover the latest industry news and market trends," he said.
Retailers will have the opportunity to meet new drink manufacturers, agents of different drinks and beverages and drink and technology packaging technology experts, while it will be important for new companies looking for distributors in the region," he said.
The event will feature showcases of the latest technologies and system solutions for the entire non-alcoholic production chain for the manufacturing, filling, packaging, distribution and retail, trading and marketing of drinks, from fruit juices and wellness drinks to liquid dairy products and carbonates.
"It is an excellent opportunity for foreign beverage companies to utilise DDTE to penetrate and capture the Middle East market, as the event will provide a stimulating environment in which to do business," he said.
The event will promote new drink processing and packaging systems, light machinery, equipment, materials and services.
