Dominican Republic President tours Dubai World projects

His Excellency Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic and First Lady, Her Excellency Margarita Cedeno De Fernandez with Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, vice chairman Dubai World during a visit.

A 65-member delegation of ministers, government officials and business leaders embarked on a tour of Dubai World projects last week showing an increase in bilateral relations between the Dominican Republic and the UAE.

His Excellency Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic and First Lady, Her Excellency Margarita Cedeno De Fernandez were accompanied by Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Vice Chairman of Dubai World.

The main focus of the four-day visit is said to be bilateral economic cooperation. Officials were shown Nakheel's, The Palm Jumeirah, DP World's Jebel Ali Port and Jebel Ali Free Zone.

"The discussions covered various possibilities of furthering cooperation with the Dominican Republic. The visit also provided us with an opportunity to present to the delegation the various developments being undertaken by DP World and Economic Zones World and their significant contribution to the growth of Dubai and the UAE," said Bin Thaniah.

DP World manages the Port of Caucedo.
