Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay was praised for its use of traditional materials such as wattle and sandstone which both serve to reduce energy consumption.

They also use natural ventilation, passive shading, recycled timber, as well as local materials and suppliers.

In addition, the resort also gives a percentage of its revenue to environmental projects.

The resort also embraces water saving technology, including treatment of waste water to water greenery and flush toilets.

Estidama, which means sustainability in Arabic, is a unique framework that integrates the four pillars of environment, economic, social and cultural dimensions.
