Craig Barrett to visit Egypt next month

Craig Barrett, chairman of Intel, is set to visit Egypt in December.
During the trip, Barrett’s third to Egypt, and his second visit to the Middle East this year, he will meet senior government officials, educators and business leaders, and is expected to announce new initiatives in education and technology.
Intel is already involved in training teachers in Egypt, through the Intel Teach program, working with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
Dr Khaled Elamrawi, Intel’s general manager Egypt, Levant and North Africa commented: “As one of the most important emerging markets, our global chairman’s visit supports Intel’s long-term commitment to Egypt and its booming IT industry. Over 70% of Intel’s business and growth comes from emerging markets such as Egypt. At Intel Egypt, we realize the significance of collaborating with the IT ecosystem and local communities in order to empower tomorrow’s generation of innovators.”
In April, Barrett visited Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE, and announced a number of programs for the region.
