Prestige Jet, the private jet operator, has launched a new subsidiary company to cater for the massive surge in demand for air ambulance services in the region.
The new company, Prestige Flight Ambulance (PFA), aims to build on an operation launched earlier this year to offer an air ambulance service for patients to transport them from/to UAE and any destination in the world.
Through Prestige Flight Ambulance, Prestige Jet will operate two dedicated aircraft permanently positioned in Abu Dhabi, a Challenger 604 and a Lear 55, to carry patients to any destination in the world.
All medical evacuation trips are carried on board of fully-equipped aircraft, the equivalent of an on-board intensive care unit and are staffed from a pool of highly experienced paramedics who are permanently in practice.
Gaith Ben Hamil Al-Gaith, chairman of Prestige Jet, said: "Our medical evacuation services have been recognised as the foremost in the industry in the region. As a result we have been growing exponentially.
"Our new subsidiary company is a natural progression of the successful relationship we have enjoyed. The outstanding services of the highly trained team
of medical and aviation professionals, their customer-focus and attention to detail generated a high demand for the business in the region."
Faris Deeb, managing director of Prestige Jet, added that the move comes following high demand for air ambulance services from the private sector as well as government, the military and private hospitals.
"Since the beginning of the year, we have been tasked with more than 45 medical evacuation missions that include critical cases, from the health ministry, local health authorities and private medical hospitals, with a 100 per cent success rate."
Prestige Flight Ambulance expects a growth of 60 percent by adding the two dedicated state-of-the-art air ambulance jets.
