Sky Electronics has strengthened its PC components portfolio by inking a distribution agreement with PNY, a partner for Nvidia’s Professional Quadro graphics cards in the Middle East.
PNY believes the tie-up will allow it to make ground in the region given Sky’s background as both a PC assembler and distribution house.
“Sky, which is focused in the professional business segment with its strong components and solutions base and value addPNY signs distribution deal with Sky Electronics for its professional graphics card rangeed services such as technical consulting, training, education and optimisation, was our obvious choice for the Middle East region,” said Raphael Berthelot, EMEA Quadro sales manager at PNY. “Partnering with Sky gives us an extended physical presence in this important market.”
PNY’s professional graphics cards are built using Nvidia’s Quadro FX GPU and designed to maximise productivity and creativity in a 2D and 3D workstation environment.
Sky, which restructured last year as part of a move that saw it pull out of the AMD distribution business and drive deeper into the specialist PC assembly segment, has already lined up a series of potential customers that it will target with PNY.
“Some of the key markets we plan to focus on with PNY’s Nvidia Quadro range of products include manufacturing, digital content creation and non-linear editing, architecture, engineering and construction, geographical information system, finance and the oil and gas sectors,” revealed Manoj Thacker, managing director at Sky.
Thacker says Sky will also work with resellers, CAD software vendors such as Autodesk and design software integrators to strengthen PNY’s position in the Middle East.
