Acer unveils gaming notebook

Acer has released a new notebook which it is describing as the ‘Gaming Machine’.
The Acer Aspire 8930G has been designed to include state of the art gaming features, according to the company, to meet the demands of a growing gamer market in the region.
Mark Prosser, product marketing manager of Mobility Products, Acer Computer Middle East commented: “The number of gamers across the EMEA regions is multiplying quickly, and they demand the best machines. Designed specifically for gaming, the 8930G is a value-added product that will excite users. We wanted to offer something extraordinary, a product that incorporates state-of-the-art gaming parameters.”
The Aspire 8930G runs on an Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo processor on an Intel Mobile PM45 chipset.
The notebook designed is based on Acer’s Gemstone design, featuring a multi-layered casing with 3D, backlit effect.
For display performance, the Aspire 8930G has an 18.4 inch CineCrystal panel, in 16:9 aspect ratio with full HD, 1920x1080 resolution. The notebook also includes several image enhancement technologies, including Wide Color Gamut Plus (WCG+), Acer ClearVision and Acer CinemaVision, and an 8ms response time to eliminate ghosting.
The notebook also includes a number of options for users, including choice of Nvidia graphics cards, one or two HDD to give a total capacity of up to 640GB, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory and either a Blu-ray Disc or a DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive.
For connectivity, the notebook also includes built-in wi-fi and a 6 in 1 card reader.

The intent though admirable, what we need to see is how aggressively is it priced and not to mention the most important battery life. Would also like to comment if Acer has patched up its heat issues wit hrelation to its laptop which tends to get really hot in a short while compared to let's say Toshiba.
