TECOM Investments recently launched a new services portal –SmartPaper – for its customers.
SmartPaper aims to be the first point of contact for customers to interact with government service operations within any TECOM free zone.
It will automate processing of more than 900 daily transactions, including issuance and renewal of employment permits. In turn, business partners will be kept informed of application progress through email and SMS notifications.
Built and customised by Keross, a global consulting and technology services company, the platform makes use of a 2D bar-coding system that can capture information directly from an application printout and fed into the Oracle ERP and other systems.
As part of a three-year contract, Keross will also manage and operate the technology infrastructure of the solution. This will allow TECOM to focus on its core business and avoid heavy investments in hardware and software.
