Dubai Media Incorporated will deliver wider access to its portfolio of channels through mobile and internet television services, delivered in partnership with telecom operators Etisalat and du, and JumpTV, a global internet television carrier.
Through the new initiative, fans of DMI channels including Dubai TV, Dubai One and Dubai Sports, can now watch programs at their own convenience.
“We believe the strength of the DMI brand and its status as a global distribution platform are ideal to tap into Arabic-speaking communities around the world. Through our tie-ups with du and etisalat, we seek to offer our viewers an opportunity to stay close to DMI wherever they are, and whenever they wish to,” said Ahmad Al Shaikh, managing director at DMI.
Uptake of mobile television is increasing according to Ali Al Ahmed, executive VP of Planning and Strategy at etisalat, who stated that it is one of their most successful services with nearly 300,000 subscribers experiences.
In addition to the Mobile TV by Etisalat and du, viewers can even log on to www.dmi.ae to view live streams of channel programs and download specific episodes through the Video On Demand (VOD) service.
