Dnata has targeted the corporate market with the launch of camel polo, hosted at the Arabian Ranches Polo Club, Dubai.
“We wanted to add something different to our portfolio as we’re always looking for innovative ways to attract our corporate customers,” said Dnata business development manager Adrian Sime.
The company has taken two elements from the Middle East — camels and polo — to create a unique and accessible sport.
“The good thing about camel polo is that we can host it at any time as long you avoid the lunchtime heat and it’s easy to set up an event relatively quickly.
”It’s also a lot of fun and everyone can do it regardless of gender, strength and skill, there’s a mix for everybody, which makes an ideal team-building sport,” added Sime.
Dnata’s strategy to attract the corporate market comes at a time when concerns are raised about the effects on the leisure industry as the world faces a credit crunch.
Sime said that this is a wise move for leisure facilities as the “corporate market has the budget there, which may not be available to leisure markets during the current financial crisis.”
