Alfred Dunhill was honoured with the British Luxury Overseas Award for Excellence last night at the 2008 Walpole Awards in London.

The brand entered the Middle East market in 1966 in Bahrain, and it is currently represented in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon and Egypt.

The award was accepted by CEO Christopher Colfer and creative director Kim Jones. Acclaimed British menswear designer, Jones was recently appointed Creative Director for the brand and is responsible for overseeing product design and development. His appointment comes at a time that is already proving to be significant for Alfred Dunhill with the global signing of Jude Law, British renowned actor as the international face of the brand.

Beating a shortlist of eminent international brands including Bentley, Thomas Pink and Vertu, dunhill was praised for its modernity, relevance, functionality and distinctive creative thread.

The British luxury brand, known for its ready-to-wear collection, leathergoods, cufflinks, writing instruments and other accessories for men – which has 201 stores globally – has, since 1893, been committed to remaining the world’s premier destination for men’s luxury goods. In the previous nine months, dunhill proved its international remit even further by opening the global Homes of Alfred Dunhill in Tokyo, London and Shanghai.

Walpole – which is committed to celebrating and supporting British luxury – has hosted the Awards for Excellence for seven years.
