Kuwait’s first mini-International Health, Racquets and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) Conference has brought together fitness professionals from across the industry.
The event, which was hosted at the Al Corniche Club on November 18, included key speeches discussing strategies to improve health and wellness in Kuwait.
UK-based nutritionist Penny Hunking spoke about nutrition and its intrinsic link to fitness; Middle East Fitness Professionals (MEFITPRO) CEO Greg Boucher gave insights into the personal training market; Teamwork executive management and team coach Lexie Griffiths gave an energetic seminar on the importance of children’s activity programming and founder of Sales Makers International Doug Miller concluded with tips on how to make successful sales.
“The event was a success. As many as 50 people attended one of the seminars, which in Kuwait, is no mean feat,” said Al Corniche Club Resort and Spa marketing and branding director Louise Eaden.
The event attracted representatives from Kuwait-based fitness clubs including Fit4Fun, Platinum, Radisson SAS, Pilates and More, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Al Corniche Club.
It was sponsored by Dia Behbehani (Technogym), Organic n More, Diet Care, Al Khaldiya (Life Fitness), Abhar Catering and Olympia (Cybex).
Al Corniche Club general manager Gerard Oliver said: “In the health and fitness industry, keeping up-to-date with developments, research and new techniques is vital. We were extremely happy to see so many professionals and companies in Kuwait taking the opportunity to educate and inform themselves further by contributing to the conference. We definitely hope to repeat the event next year”.
