Not new to the industry, but relatively new to the Middle East and making its debut at the Big 5, the CAD roll formers made by New Zealand’s SCS group have been creating a lot of interest.
The RF700 series is an intelligent CNC roll former that produces all the framing components of a structure automatically. The computer controlled, servo-driven machine precisely rolls out the steel profile through seven progressive stations.
The device uses the latest technology to get the accuracy of components down to .5mm, which allows all components to be easily assembled , by simple insertion of one element into, or over another.
Villas are thought to be the most popular application, though other uses, including light commercial units have been considered for the rolled steel created by the system.
The roll former is controlled by a laptop, running the custom software supplied with the machinery.
Alessandro Piva, sales, SCS said “Our roll former is built on a rugged frame, but is leightweight enough to be portable. The roll former is at home in a high volume fabrication plant or on a job site - the customer makes the choice”
