Dubai hotels install next generation communications network

A leading Middle East system integrator, Al-Futtaim Technologies (a member of Al-Futtaim Group), was recently contracted to implements converged communication networks for two leading Dubai hotels.

The flagship hotels, Al Manzil and Qamardeen, operated by South African hotel group Southern Sun are expected to receive a steady visitor growth over the next two years, and to accommodate the requirement of guests’ needs the latest technology systems have been installed.

Richard Weilers, managing director for Southern Sun Middle East said Al-Futtaim Technologies was contracted as the system integrator to “seamlessly execute” a consolidated end-to-end solution.

While Venkat Raghavan, the general manager for Al-Futtaim Technologies, said strengthening customer loyalty through the provision of such services was a key success factor for hospitality operators.

“Al-Futtaim Technologies is a proven systems integrator offering technically advanced voice and network components seamlessly integrated. With Alcatel-Lucent’s communication solution, Al-Futtaim Technologies has provided Southern Sun hotels with an infrastructure that enables flawless communication within the hotels and the outside world,” he stated.

The solution includes the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise communication server to control guestrooms and back office requirements, the OmniSwitch active data network and the OmniAccess wireless network in common areas for guest internet access, the FCS application suite for hospitality property management system and a Nexans Structured Cabling solution Cat6 with fiber copper backbone.
