Private sector holiday for National Day

The UAE's private sector has been given Dec. 2 off work to mark National Day, the country's labour minister announced on Wednesday.
Saqr Gobash said in a circular quoted by state news agency WAM that the day had been designated a national holiday to mark the formation of the United Arab Emirates 37 years ago.
Gobash congratulated UAE president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also vice president and ruler of Dubai.
He said congratulated Supreme Council members and the other rulers of the UAE's seven emirates, as well as government officials and the people of the UAE.
