Amusement Whitewater named Specialist Contractor of the Year in Construction Week awards

Theming contractor Amusement Whitewater was celebrating last month after picking up the award for Specialist Contractor of the Year Award in the annual Construction Week awards.

The award was collected by John Cussen, general manager at Amusement Whitewater and Mohammed Abdulsalam Doei, managing director of Group 9 investment.

Amusement Whitewater earlier this year completed one of its largest projects in the region, the design of the exterior theming for the Aquaventure water park in the new Atlantis resort, as well as design of specific areas of the interior.

Other projects the company has worked on in the region include Wild Wadi in Dubai, the restoration of the old fort in Umm Al Quwain, and the Canal Coves on palm island in Palm Jumeirah.

The Construction Week awards were organized by ITP Publishing Group, publisher of Commercial Outdoor Design.

Other winners at the event include architects Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, who won the Sustainable Design Award, and Nakheel which was named Developer of the Year.
