Influential Du board member resigns

Dubai telecom Du said on Sunday influential board member Soud Ba'alawy, who is executive chairman of Dubai Group, had resigned.

Ba'alawy, who joined the new board of directors of Emirates Telecommunications Corp. (Etisalat) earlier this month, was replaced by Fadel Al Ali, Du said in a statement posted on the bourse website.

It gave no reason for the change.

Ba'alawy is also chairman of Nasdaq Dubai.
