Systems integrator Raqmiyat has opened its own Software Development Centre in Chennai, India.
The Centre, which is located in the DLF IT Park in the Chennai Special Economic Zone, will serve as a facility for software development and outsourcing for Raqmiyat, in line with the company’s plans to expand into managed services, hosting, infrastructure and software applications.
The purpose-built centre, which cost around AED 10 million ($2.7m), will house up to 100 IT personnel.
Tapas Roy, COO of Raqmiyat said: “By establishing a new Software Development Centre in a more cost-effective location such as India, where the IT talent pool is rich, we are able to maintain our high levels of service and performance, enabling us to cater to the unique needs of our clients in the Middle East. This facility will serve our regional customers, especially in the UAE, without compromising the continued growth of the company.
“Our state-of-the-art facility in Chennai is reflective of the growth we are currently experiencing and we are positive of the response from the region to this initiative,” Roy added.
