22nd Gastech event set for December date

The 22nd edition of Gastech will take place this year on December 4-7 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) and Emirates Palace Hotel.

The event, which is hosted by Adnoc and organised by dmg world media, is an international conference and exhibition for the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries.

“The gas business in Abu Dhabi will almost double in the next five years – a trend that is set to continue for many years to come,” said Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Adnec.

“I am very pleased that this year’s Gastech will be in Abu Dhabi – right at the heart of the world’s gas industry.”

This year’s event sees the addition of the 2006 Excellence in Energy Awards, or ‘Oil Oscars’; the Gastech IT Zone; the Gastech and LNG Hosted Buyers Programme; GasTV Live; and the 1st Gastech Open Golf Tournament.

Simon Horgan, Adnec chief executive, said: “I am delighted that dmg world media have chosen to stage Gastec 2006 in Abu Dhabi.

The Emirate stands on the brink of an economic boom and high profile international exhibitions such as Gastech have a huge role to play in promoting the region and the opportunities that it provides to the wider world.”
