Sun Microsystems conducted a series of open source educational seminars in universities across Lebanon.
Hundreds of students in four Beirut universities – Notre Dame University, Beirut Arab University, Lebanese American University and the University of Balamand – learnt about the technology and its benefits.
The seminars, conducted in collaboration with ACT Knowledge Center, also encouraged students to take up Sun’s certification programs in order to help them gain an advantage in their IT careers.
“Such seminars are the key to create the awareness for competitive technologies amongst the students. We at Sun Learning Services believe that it is the right approach to drive adoption,” said Ghassan El Haj, business development manager for Sun Learning Services, MENA.
“We will extend the offering for students to increase their skills around Open Source concepts and Sun technology,” added El Haj.
