Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) said on Wednesday it would thoroughly re-assess the condition of the engine of the plane that was forced to return to Cairo International Airport shortly after take off.
A Kuwait Airways passenger plane was forced to abort the flight on Tuesday after its right-hand engine caught fire.
The Airbus, carrying 223 passengers, was allowed by maintenance teams to leave the airport for Kuwait but its pilot detected the technical failure half an hour after departure so he decided to return, reported Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Adel Burisli, head of KAC's public relations and media department, said the corporation would re-assess the engine in coordination with its manufacturing company to find out the reason of its malfunction.
He apologised to the passengers of flight 542 for the malfunction and thanked them for their cooperation.
Burisli also praised the efforts of workers at Cairo's airport for assisting the passengers and providing hotel bookings for them.
He said that KAC immediately sent another plane to Cairo to carry the passengers with a team to fix the engine problem.

KA Staff ought to have apologized. However, saving the lives of 223 passengers + crews' lives are more important than the flowery languages of apology. Thank God all are safe !! In my opinion no need to complaint or boycot, but appreciate the effort taken by the pilot with out losing his mental balance.

Poor Peter, I would've never wanted to be in your situtation, however, what surprises me is that you expected Kuwaitis to apologize !!
It appears that you have been living there for some time and should know best that the culture of apology hasn't reached this part of the World yet.

As the subject shows and above news, it said that they apologies to the passengers, but Peter says they didnt at all.
And i would agree with you advising not to fly peter, But you forgot something very important Peter, You should thank him for landing you and the passenger safely because flying with one engine most of the time is hard since the pressure will be focused on one side of the plane.
If i was one of the people amoung them i would appreciate him and thank him for doing his best for getting me back safely after an Engine failer.
Thats all i wanna try to say, to thank him rather than complaining, many airlines have problems and we all know Kuwait Airways is facing a very hard time, and i think if im not mistaken they might stop operating or will be bought by some company, not sure really

Hi Peter, thank you for the information. Believe me I was planning to travel to Kuwait next month and I am scared now.Anyways, this can happen on any flight at any time in the world. Its just that the Cabin crew should be trained to help people.
