The UAE's Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced that it has launched a new electronic project to facilitate easy access to patients' records at all healthcare centres nationwide.
Under the slogan "One folder for every patient", the 200 million dirham Al-Wareed project aims to transform the country's health delivery sector and ensure rapid healthcare delivery.
Health chief Humaid Al-Qattami said the initiative was one of the most significant projects on his ministry's list of strategic plans.
He said the project will link 14 hospitals and more than 100 health centres, adding that it would be completed by the end of 2011.
He said implementation of phase 1 of the scheme had started in some hospitals, including the Sheikh Khalifa Hospital and the Mushairef Health Centre in Ajman, adding that this phase would be completed by July 23, 2009.
