Micro-blogging service Twitter.com is hit by a widespread phishing scam that uses a malicious link to steal login credentials of its users.
Direct messages such as ‘hey! check out this funny blog about you…’ lure users to click on a URL that directs them to a fake Twitter site.
Login details are then stolen as they are entered on the fraudulent website - twitter.access-logins.com.
If you think you might be affected, change your password immediately and warn your peers.
It’s advised to always log in to the service directly from Twitter.com and ensure the right address is displayed on the browser address bar.
