du launches Palestine fundraising drive

du is launching an SMS-based fundraising campaign to provide aid to those affected by the Gaza conflict.

Starting today, subscribers can donate money by sending an SMS with the text ‘Gaza’ to the code 1000. Each SMS costs AED 10, which will be sent to the UAE Red Crescent, and there is no limit to the number of messages that can be sent.

du is also conducting an internal campaign for its employees, encouraging them to donate to the cause.

The fundraising campaigns follow the company’s decision to slash call rates to Palestine by 50% from December 30 last year.

If anyone else wishes to donate to the UAE Red Crescent, money can be transferred to Dubai Islamic Bank – Account Number: 003520534675401 and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Account Number: 20000417
