Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), has donated $1.3 million to Palestinians affected by the current crisis in Gaza.
Prince Alwaleed’s donation was in response to an appeal made by the Saudi King Abdullah and will help provide much needed medical aid and food for the Palestinian people, a statement said.
It is the latest in a series of donations Prince Alwaleed had made to Palestine, the last was a donation of $200,000 to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
News of the donation comes as UNRWA started to deliver relief supplies offered by the UAE.
President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has instructed the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation to provide and distribute the humanitarian assistance, including medical and food supplies, through UN agencies.
