A technical connection fault delayed the opening of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on its first day of trading this year.
The fault, which lasted forty minutes, left 35 brokers unable to access the system and start activities at the usual time of 10:00 am.
To ensure fair trading conditions, ADX had to suspend market activity till the matter was resolved.
A source at the bourse confirmed that the fault was rectified at 10:30 am, with trading beginning ten minutes later.
Due to the late start, ADX remained open until 2:40 pm today.
