Sweet Homes awards three-tower contract

A Sharjah-based construction company has been awarded a 450 million dirham contract to build three towers within a high profile residential project in Ajman, the UAE real estate developer Sweet Homes announced on Tuesday.
 
Sweet Homes awarded the contract to Master Civil Construction Company as part of its 1.7 billion dirham Rainbow Towers development in Emirates City, which is its first project in the UAE.

Rainbow Towers is set for completion in the last quarter of 2010 and will consist of nine towers.

The construction company has committed to complete building work for three of the towers within 24 months.

“Our aim is to exceed their expectations and deliver a project that will definitely stand out in Emirates City and transform the skyline of Ajman,” said Ehab Nagati Khafagi, the general manager of Master Civil Construction Company.

Sweet Homes has also named Eng. Adnan Saffarini Office, an international engineering consultancy firm, as the design and supervision consultant for the project.

Six towers have already sold out, while 70 per cent of the remaining three have also been sold, Sweet Homes said.

It is optimistic that the entire project will sell out in the next few months.

I would urge Sweet Homes to deliver on their promise of completing the projects they promised two years ago.

Looks wonderful on paper!! but what about the next generation !!!!

Rainbow Towers (and indeed many other Towers) looks wonderful on paper and congratulations to designers. But, what would be even more wonderful if they could publicly announce the sustainability and energy rating of these buildings; for marketing and social responsibility purposes. Of course it is still not too late, as even in the United Kingdom such enforcements are trickling through with painfully slow speeds. Only yesterday we have had the compulsory air conditioning energy efficiency and home energy efficiency rules kick in England; but as said far too slowly.
Let's hope someone in Middle East drives this energy conservation and sustainability issue much faster than Europe for the sake of generations to come.
