Microsoft's website reportedly crashed last week due to the deluge of people trying to download the new Windows 7 beta that was released recently.

Interest swelled when CEO Steve Ballmer announced in his CES keynote speech that a beta version of the new operating system would be made available through the official website.

The strain was believed to have not only taken down the Windows 7 beta page, but the entire Microsoft.com website as well. The problem was quickly resolved though and the site is now operational again.
