Fujairah's government has signed a deal with the Majid Al Futtaim Group to build a City Centre mall and retail park in the city, to be completed in 2011.
The two groups will work together to develop the latest City Centre shopping mall to be developed in the UAE.
Mohamad Saeed al-Dhanhani, Emiri court director, said: “We chose Majid Al Futtaim Group because of its track record in creating retail and leisure destinations that understand customers and become part of everyday life.
"Their reputation for delivering the highest standards of quality and excellence makes them the perfect partner to build our shopping centre.”
Commenting on the announcement, Stefan Kirsten, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Group added: “Considering the ever increasing strategic role of Fujairah in tourism, oil and energy industries, the development of a state-of-the-art shopping centre will support the growth of the city.
"We look forward to working with them (government) to create an exciting destination where people will come together to meet, eat, shop, relax and be entertained with family and friends.”
