Alfanar Construction has signed a new 380kV substation contract worth US $118.5 million (SAR444 million) for Makkah West substation with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
The project is expected to enhance the capacity to meet the growing demand for electricity in Makkah, especially the Holy Al Harram area where the project will distribute electricity to the new facilities located in the area.
As part of an interconnection plan, the proposed substation will also be linked to several other substations, including the Aziziah South substation and the Shoaibah substation, and the 380kV overhead transmission lines in Makkah. The project is expected to be completed in 29 months.
Alfanar construction has implemented several other key projects for SEC as well.
