CareerJunction Middle East has announced it has launched an innovative mobile application that allows job seekers to search and apply for jobs using their mobile phones.

The website's new feature gives registered users the opportunity to apply for roles, with the additional provision of customising their cover letters and emailing jobs to themselves and their friends.

Ihab Hashwa, regional operations manager, said: “Unlike traditional internet browsing through the mobile phone, which is time-consuming and not so mobile-friendly, our new application is fully optimised for a mobile phone interface with easy navigation and quick download time.

“Our aim to provide CareerSeekers access to top regional jobs anywhere and anytime has now become a reality through the mobile application service.”

The move comes at a time of growing redundancies in the UAE fuelled by the slowdown in the real estate and construction industries. A recent report by Arab Advisors Group found that the UAE has the highest penetration rate of mobile phone users.

Hashwa added: “We believe the new service will be an invaluable tool for our clients who are always looking for innovative ways to extend the reach of their job ads.”

Within a year of its launch, CareerJunction Middle East has achieved more than 100,000 registered users from all over the world.
