Fuel efficiency will cut site costs

Fuel-efficiency is important in cutting construction costs and falls in line with the UAE’s green building directives, according to a manufacturer of anti-theft and fuel-efficient machinery devices in Dubai.
UK-based company TruckProtect has drawn on inspiration from the World Future Energy Summit held last month in Abu Dhabi where better fuel effectiveness was highlighted, and launched its EcoFuelKleanz product in the Middle East.
According to TruckProtect Middle East CEO Majed Zambaraji, the new product can be fitted to a whole range of vehicles including plant and machinery and can reduce fuel emissions to help improve engine life and fuel systems, and reduce parts breakdown.
"Diesel always contains a percentage of water in which microbes flourish," he said.
"These produce very acidic excretions that can even dissolve stainless steel. The sludge accumulated by these microbes blocks fuel lines, filters, pumps, injectors and engines and cause breakdowns. In addition, they contribute to a reduction in fuel burning efficiency and the result is more black smoke and greater emissions. These problems are exacerbated by poor diesel quality which absorbs more water in which the microbes flourish."
Microbial contamination in diesel increases carbon dioxide emissions which is one of main reasons behind global warming.
Some companies already using TruckProtect products include Wade Adams, Arabtec, Cemex, Al Naboodah, Arabian Mix, X-tramix and United Precast Concrete.
