Fujitsu Siemens has just launched a new thin client in the Middle East that’s aimed at the mid-range market.
The FUTRO S450 can be integrated into any server-based environment and is equipped with the eLux RL – Embedded Linux miniature operating system, powered by an AMD Sempron TF20 processor.
“As regional business work to reduce costs in the current economic climate, the FUTRO S450 is the ideal device for the ‘Virtual Workplace’, and constitutes an essential element of our strategic “Dynamic Infrastructures” offering,” explained Chandan Mehta, product manager, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
“As client virtualization becomes one of the major trends in the IT industry, the FUTRO will help regional customers to save on energy and administration costs while also optimizing IT infrastructure security,” Mehta added, referring to IDC research that predicts growth in the virtualization market, with more than two million units in EMEA alone by the year 2011.
It boasts green credentials as well, with an energy-saving component integrated in the device that considerably reduces CO2 emissions.
