Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has plans to expand in 2009 opening 10 new branches across the UAE bringing the total up to 64, it said in a press statement on Saturday.
Speaking about the expansion plans, Adnan Chilwan, chief of retail and business banking, DIB, said: “As the world’s first Islamic bank, and the acknowledged global leader in Islamic banking, it is imperative for us to fulfil the banking requirements of our growing base of customers.
One of the key elements in ensuring customer satisfaction is accessibility, and our expansion plans for 2009 will enable us to be even closer to our customers,” Chilwan said.
“In addition to regular, full-service branches, DIB is also planning to launch Express Banking Centres, which will provide fast, efficient services to DIB customers at various convenient locations like shopping malls, hypermarkets and megastores,” he added.
Last year DIB opened six new branches at Dubai Industrial City, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai; Al Ain Industrial Area; Kalba, Sharjah and Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi.
