Dell sees Potential in new partner academy

Computer maker Dell has hosted its first Middle East partner academy, which is intended to improve the skills of the vendor’s reselling and retailing channel across the region.

The event, which took place last week in Dubai, included lectures on topics including, Leading in Difficult Times and was hosted by Potential, a training, coaching and consultancy firm based in the UAE. It also included workshops on sales management and maximising ROI.

“We believe the current economic environment is an opportunity for us to be better prepared, more creative and more in tune with our clients’ needs,” said Michael Collins, general manager for Dell Middle East.

“As projects become more complex and increasingly business critical, it is essential we share best practices with our stakeholder network and work together to drive a greater return on our customers’ IT investments,” he added.

The kickoff of its first partner academy took place in conjunction with vendor partners, Intel, EMC and Symantec.

According to Potential’s managing partner, Shadi Banna, the aim of the one-day programme was to develop well-rounded and strong advisors within Dell’s partner-base that can drive ICT adoption and fully understand customer needs and challenges.

“The programme is designed to support enterprises across the region by providing the right consultancy to help them reduce their operating costs, increase their efficiency and create new business opportunities during times of economic uncertainty,” concluded Banna.
