7.00am Grunt as wife and kids leave the Bohemian environs of Satwa borders for Jebel Ali school.
7.15am Trawl through letters pages of papers to keep finger on pulse bad driving and rent rants.
7.45am Have creative thoughts in shower. Meaningful conversation with myself about how to add value real business impact to a client brief, and move away from the turgidity of press cutting generation. Wish that more clients would write briefs rather than a list of expectations or, even worse, "deliverables".
8.00am Smirk at lemmings on SZR heading to DMC while I enjoy the company of Malcolm and Richard on the short, traffic-free drive to the salubrious surroundings of Plaza de Lamcy.
8.15am Office. Caffeine. Nicotine. Do stuff. Research markets, counsel clients, coach staff, manage budgets, co-ordinate with network, develop proposals, recruit bright, young, fresh, creative talent.
1.30pm Lunch Al Desco perusing the important international news on the interweb. Actually get as far as the sports pages before the essential reading of message forums on Hob Nob Anyone? Go on, Google it.
2.15pm More caffeine. More nicotine. Do lots more stuff. Constantly impressed at the reach of our network, both regionally and internationally, and the strength of talent to provide insight, ideas and the ability to get things done.
6.00pm Begin to wind down by pondering when one might expect to see the day of PR enlightment: the day when reputation management has a seat at the boardroom table.
7.00pm Home. Bath kids. Green can. Dinner with the ridiculously gorgeous and intelligent Mrs B.
10.00pm Sweaty palms from PMT pre-match tension. Fiddle incessantly with i-mate K-Jam who needs BlackBerry?
11.00pm Kick-off.
2.00am Mutt licks feet again. Wake up on couch. Bed.
