Leaders for a complex world

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Wednesday, 04 March 2009

Research shows students are best prepared for innovation when creativity is part of early schooling. This is a priority for Dubai International Academy. Therefore, the Academy motivates and inspires young minds to aspire to achieve excellence in education with the help of well-qualified multi-national faculty with international teaching credentials.

Dubai International Academy (DIA) was established with the aim of offering excellence in education through international programmes of study that will prepare students for leadership roles and help them become lifelong learners for the Global Knowledge Economy.

The Academy focuses on pursuing excellence in a balanced academic environment that nurtures intellectual, emotional, physical and social development. Its stimulating curriculum integrates a variety of cross-curricular activities and uses structured inquiry as an ideal approach to learning.

DIA aspires to achieve and set, within the framework of the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate, world-class standards of education and an all-round development.

DIA is an ‘IB World School' and is the first school in UAE to have been authorised by the IB for the continuum of the full IB curriculum, the Diploma Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme.

The school has a student body of over 1,695 students from 73 different nationalities plus over 200 staff members from 23 different nationalities.

It has over 80 classrooms and specialist rooms for music, art, dance, drama and language learning, well-equipped science and computer labs, networked libraries, climate controlled multi-purpose halls for a wide range of sports, swimming pools, playing fields, basketball and shaded tennis courts, and a cafeteria in a vibrant and modern environment.
