Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) will be exhibiting at CeBIT 2009, to help promote its services to the global IT industry.
The show, which opens in Hanover tomorrow, is Europe’s largest, although organizers say that exhibitor numbers will be down from previous years.
DSO is participating to showcase the opportunities in the Gulf region for IT companies, and to promote its own services and capabilities.
Dr Jihad Kiwan, Chief Technology Officer at DSOA said: “Our participation at CeBIT aims to highlight Dubai Silicon Oasis as a free zone entity and a fully integrated city that offers cutting-edge services, unique benefits, modern and updated IT infrastructure, all of which create an ideal business location for potential business partners.
“The event in Hanover gains added significance against the current economic scenario where companies worldwide are seeking innovative solutions to drive the future growth of the industry. As a Government entity that is built on strong business fundamentals, we are keenly looking forward to sharing some of our solutions and experience with global leaders in technology” Dr. Kiwan Added.
The show is due to be opened by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and actor and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is attending as part of the Californian state government’s IT service participation.
Cebit organizers Deutsche Messe said that this show will feature 4,300 companies from 69 nations, down 26% from last year, and with floor space also reduced from 240,000 square metres last year to 200,000 metres this year.
