Budget carrier Air Arabia said on Tuesday it would launch non-stop flights to Goa next month.
The Sharjah carrier will operate the thrice-weekly service to the Indian city on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from April 16.
Flights will leave Sharjah at 12.25am and touch down in Goa at 5.05am. The return leg is scheduled to depart Goa at 5.50am and arrive in Sharjah at 7.35am.
“Famous for its sun-kissed sandy beaches and natural beauty, Goa is India’s premier tourist destination,” said Air Arabia’s head of commercial department AK Nizar.
“With a high tourist inflow into Goa, the route promises to be of great potential for Air Arabia, especially since there are few direct flights from the UAE. We are confident that Air Arabia’s non-stop flights to Goa will further enhance its popularity among travellers based in the region.”
This latest launch is Air Arabia’s 13th Indian destination. In total, the carrier flies to 46 cities across the Middle East, North Africa, central Asia, Indian Subcontinent and southern Europe.
According to Air Arabia, Goa is renowned for its beaches, religious devotion and architecture. The city, located on the west coast of India, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
Air Arabia said it would provide a tourist visa service for Goa residents visiting Sharjah.

A wise decision on the part Air Arabia to support Goan's living in the UAE otherwise it was a big hassle via Bombay if no direct flight was available and was not economically satisfactory being an indirect route.
Long Live Air Arabia!

Hats off to Air Arabia for putting Goa on its list. Renowned for its beaches, places of worship, warmth, great food and world heritage architecture, Goa is visited by hundreds of thousands of international and domestic tourists each year. It also has rich flora and fauna, owing to its location on the Western Ghats range, which is classified as a bio-diversity hotspot.
“Famous for its sun-kissed sandy beaches and natural beauty, Goa is India’s premier tourist destination with tourists visiting in their thousands” and guess what, our national budget carrier Air India Express does not see this as a business opportunity nor cater to Goans in the Mid-East. Time Goans in the UAE do away with other national carriers and fly Air Arabia besides the airline should pitch their media campaign to foreign tourists on visiting Goa (package tours etc..).
