Tandberg Data has given Middle East distribution rights to value added storage distribution firm StorIT.

The pair says the agreement will allow the vendor to strengthen its focus on the growing midrange market for data storage in the Middle East.

“By leveraging StorIT's strong value added reseller channel network across the Middle East, and proven technical support capabilities, we trust in building a sustainable long-term relationship with Tandberg Data,” asserted Suren Vedantham, managing director at StorIT Distribution.

“Tandberg Data brings proven, cutting edge technology, combined with strong post sales support that actually defines the successful acceptance of any brand by end-users in the region,” added Vedantham.

StorIT has promised to enhance the skill and aptitude of Tandberg Data’s current reseller network with added storage knowledge and technical capability. The distributor will also be at the forefront of a recruitment drive for new resellers as the vendor looks to roll out a series of new products this year.

“StorIT has a strong presence and reputation in the Middle East,” said Raymond Kang, VP of sales and marketing for APAC and Japan at Tandberg Data. “This distribution agreement is symbolic of our progressive relations with StorIT which plays a major role in Tandberg Data Asia's business growth and expansion in the Middle East. I am confident that this partnership will bring us significant demand and sales growth in the region,” he concluded.
