Football video game cup kicks off

The Chevrolet Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) Regional Cup is set to kick off in Dubai’s Chevrolet car showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road from 19-21 March 2009.

The Chevrolet PES Regional Cup 2009 will take place in 5 Arab countries and 8 cities. The cities include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Doha, Kuwait and Cairo.

Gamers of any age and any nationality can attend the tournament and there are no entry fees.

Players can register online by visiting www.pescupme.com and then present their original PAL PES09 copy on arrival at the events.

Round 1 and 2 will consist of 10 minute games while the quarterfinal, semi final and final will consist of 30 minute games. The winner of each stop will get AED 5,000 and an air ticket (2 tickets if the winner is under 18 years of age) to fly to Dubai where the winners will compete in the final round for a Chevrolet Cruise. Runners up at the individual stops will get free games and sponsored gifts.

2, 3 & 4 April - 2009
Location – Jeddah

Location – Riyadh

22, 23 & 24 April
Location - Doha

Stop 7
7, 8 & 9, May - 2009
Location - Kuwait

Stop 8
14, 15& 16, May - 2009
Location - Cairo

Finals

5 June - 2009
